hey guys,
i e-mailed allan holdsworth's site to ask him who will be playing with him on his current tour (he will be here in chicago at martyr's in june)the reply i got was this ;Joel Taylor on drums (former Yanni) and Ernest Gibbs (former Natalie Cole) on bass
is anybody familiar with him? will this guy smoke? i can't imagine he'll suck, but i am curious if anyone has first hand knowledge of his prowess on the kit
also, he will be touring with a double bill...jeff berlin trio! i tried asking his site the same question...who will be playing drums? no reply...anyone happen to know?
thanks

Joel Taylor is great. Get the DVD of Holdsworth with Taylor on drums. He's very musical.
As for Berlin, I know that Danny Gottlieb played on his latest record, but I doubt he's doing the tour. Whoever it is will be great I'm sure.

Joel is a MOFO!!! Plays his ass off!!! Pulls a ton of stuff outta his hat. I know Berlin is in the studio with Vinnie.... I'm not sure if Vince is going to go out on the road with him. Maybe if you drop an e-mail at Berlins website (not sure if he has one) or Vinnies website, he may respond??
You won't be let down by Joel's playing

I saw him with Holdsworth at the Spud and he pulled off his shoes during a solo. Nutty stuff but love the energy!
As been said, great player. IMO, a blend of Williams and Gadd.

Good luck Sergino......
All I know is that Vinnie is going to lay down the tracks for Jeff Berlins new record this month at B squared (Brombergs home studio) in a few days from now. But to get some video or audio would be pushing it. The whole reason for them going into the studio would be to record and sell a record, not to give it away for free. It might be a little different if it were Brian's own project, but Jeff is paying Brian for the use of his studio. Wish I could help.

I think it Ernest Tibbs....not Gibbs on Bass. Taylor will be excellent.

I saw Joel w/Holdsworth and Gambale.
That boy can play!
He is also a very nice person to speak with.
Go see the show, you won't be disappointed.

Joel is a great drummer and is one of the first-call guys for live stuff in LA.
Definitely worth seeing!
